Existing-home assessment and certificate service

About Home Energy Ratings Australia

Home Energy Ratings Australia provides a straightforward, managed way to arrange a Home Energy Rating assessment for an existing home and receive your certificate.

Home Energy Ratings Australia manages the request, quote, payment and assessor allocation. An appropriately accredited existing-home assessor completes the technical work and issues the certificate.

The role of Home Energy Ratings Australia

We review your request, confirm assessor availability, the full price and proposed timing, manage payment and allocate the assessor. We remain your commercial contact throughout the service.

What you can expect

  • Your submission starts a reviewed assessment request, not an immediate booking.
  • Availability, the full price and proposed timing are confirmed before you pay.
  • An appropriately accredited existing-home assessor completes the technical work and issues the certificate.
  • Home Energy Ratings Australia remains the contact for commercial questions and service issues.

How assessor eligibility is verified

Before allocating a customer assessment, Home Energy Ratings Australia checks that the assigned assessor’s relevant existing-home accreditation is current.

We record the check before allocation. Home Energy Ratings Australia does not grant assessor accreditation.

Who owns each stage of the journey

Home Energy Ratings Australia manages

We manage request review, commercial confirmation, booking payments and assessor allocation. We send the prescribed Client Information and Consent Form, retain the completed consent record and own commercial communication, complaints and remedies.

The assigned assessor manages

The assigned assessor confirms consent, authority and property access, then manages the onsite assessment, modelling, certificate delivery and technical questions.

Accountability, complaints and remedies

If something goes wrong, contact Home Energy Ratings Australia. We own customer communication and the commercial remedy rather than redirecting you to the assigned assessor. The assessor may support a technical investigation or correction.

Complaint contact

assessments@homeenergyratingsaustralia.com.au

We acknowledge written complaints within one business day. If a complaint remains unresolved, we provide a written progress update at least every five business days.

This is an update standard, not a five-business-day resolution promise.

A failure caused by Home Energy Ratings Australia or the assigned assessor does not reduce or forfeit your initial payment.

If the problem can be remedied, we arrange a suitable correction, replacement or re-performance at no extra cost. Supplier-caused administrative, modelling or certificate errors are corrected without additional charge.

This does not limit any choice or remedy available for a major failure under Australian Consumer Law. If a valid certificate cannot be delivered, we refund all payments made for the assessment.

An independent commercial service

Home Energy Ratings Australia is an independent commercial service. It is not a government agency or assessor accreditation body.

Home Energy Ratings Australia does not grant accreditation or issue Home Energy Rating Certificates. Our role is to make the request, commercial arrangements, assessor allocation and customer support clearer.

Trust and accountability is our priority
